I was born and raised on the stunning Coffs Coast, and I take great pride in calling this place home as I raise my family. My educational journey began at Tyalla Primary School, graduating from Orara High School in 2012, then pursuing higher education at Deakin University where I obtained a Bachelor of Commerce degree. This academic foundation, combined with personal disability experience, ignited my passion for specializing in complex care within the NDIS realm.
My personal journey has been one of overcoming challenges and understanding the complexities that disability creates. Diagnosed deaf at 18 months, receiving first hearing aids at age 3, and relying on sign language until around age 7 when my vocabulary improved to enable oral communication – this experience taught me the value of resilience, specialized support approaches, and the additional complexities that some disabilities require.
Through this personal experience, I learned that effective support for complex needs requires more than standard approaches – it demands specialized understanding, enhanced patience, and robust support systems. These insights have become the guiding principles of Chapman Support Services as a complex care NDIS provider.
Now, as director, I lead with a vision of creating specialized environments where individuals with complex disabilities can flourish through enhanced support coordination, specialized interventions, and robust safeguards that families and support coordinators can trust.
My support work journey began in 2014 as a cabin leader for special needs participants at Camp Greentop in the USA. This experience with participants requiring various levels of specialized support ignited my passion for advocating for those with complex needs. Having personally navigated disability challenges and witnessed the importance of specialized, reliable support, I felt compelled to become an advocate for individuals requiring enhanced care coordination.
My journey demonstrates the power of turning personal experience into professional expertise in complex care delivery. I am committed to making a positive impact through specialized support that addresses the unique challenges faced by participants with complex needs.
